Playtime with Thunder
You can probably tell Thunder is the social one of the two gliders. Brooklyn always prefers to have him to play with. He's a sweetie pie!
A day in Springdale
Thunder got neutered on Tuesday. I had a really hard time making the decision because I wanted him and Belle to have a joey but I also didn't want to stress Belle out. Having a Joey requires extra work on her part and mine. BK and I dropped him off at 9 and spent the day with Miranda and Jaxson. We had pizza at fun city, ice cream and cold stone creamery and just let the kids run wild for a while. We met Tammy and the girls at the park for a bit, picked up Thunder and then had chick fil a with mom. It was a nice trip, especially because Thunder did well with his surgery. My poor, tiny baby! Didn't realize how attached I already am...
Halloween Cupcakes
Bk and I took a break from the busy week yesterday and made some yummy cupcakes. We are taking most of them to her preschool today. I got to use my Forks, WA notepad to label her cupcakes. :) It was relaxing! Until we (I) had to clean up. ;)

Movie Lounge
Aaron and I had a fun date at the movie lounge. Mom kept Brooklyn for the weekend and we just kinda relaxed and did what we wanted. We ate waaaay too much. It was fun..at the time. We are having a rough time getting back into the routine of "normal" eating now.
I thought I was a grocery...
After explaining how dangerous it is to get in a fridge because you may get stuck in there, I laughed. I asked Brooklyn what she was doing...She simply replied, "I thought I was a grocery."
Egg Plant Parmesan
Decided to try something different and make eggplant parmesan. We really liked it but it ended up being not as healthy as I thought. A lot of sodium and a lot of cheese. Still, it was good and fun to make something new!

Attempt to save money...
I eat a lot of granola bars because I rarely get to have "lunch" during my shifts at the hospital. I decided I would try to make my own granola bars. Found a pretty simple recipe: beat together 1 egg white, 1/2c honey, 1/2c peanut butter. Then mix with 3 cups of oats, 1/4tsp cinnamon, an raisins, chocolate chips, nuts, whatever you'd like! Bake at 350 for 25 minutes and cut to size you prefer. Kinda bland flavor but healthy and without all the extra preservatives/junk.

The joy of an almond...
Having animals brings upon responsibility. It also brings joy! Our gliders have been such a relaxing, fun experience. They are closer to being bonded with us everyday. I use they term "bonded" because its what they do. :) They bond to their owners based upon scent, voice and trust. We are earning their trust and they are starting to feel like part of the family. Brooklyn enjoys having something all her own and Aaron and I like to watch TV or do homework with them snuggled on our shoulder or in our pocket. They're therapy to our busy lives. We love them and they especially love almonds.

Dental Hygiene
Brooklyn doesn't have a dentist here yet and it was time for her semi-annual teeth cleaning so we decided to take her to the University and give a student the chance to learn on a pediatric patient. (Their instructor is with them every step of the way!) It was only $10 which was nice but honestly, I probably wouldn't do it again because we were there for over 2 hours. She liked having her teeth "painted" pink but was super antsy and got up every 5 minutes. Ahh! And the X-ray picture looks scary but they ended up not even doing it because she was too small for the machine.
Monday Night Tea Party
Enjoying some much needed family time tonight. It's nice to have Brooklyn put the iPad down and pretend with us. :) She is very imaginative. We had fun eating cheez-it's, cinnamon cereal, and one Hershey kiss a piece. We actually used warm green tea this time. We usually use water so she was so excited to have "real" tea. Tonight reminded me to take that special 20 minutes even in the midst of busy craziness and enjoy time with our quickly growing, precious daughter. Cheers!
