Day 31
Pray that your husband will recognize the lies of the Enemy in his life. Pray that his attitudes and actions will be guided by the truth as he brings his thoughts into captivity to the Word of God. (John 8:44; 2 Cor. 10:4-5)
4We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. 5 We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.

Twinkle Toes Soup
Making another sneaky vegetable recipe from Jessica Seinfields book, Deceptively Delicious. It is called twinkle toes soup because that is what Brooklyn named it. I realized she's more likely to try/like new foods if they have cooler names. I made whole grain pasta by Barilla. It's called "Plus" and is made with lentils, chickpeas, egg whites, etc. to equal 17g protein per serving! I set the pasta aside and sautéed onions and 2 cloves minced garlic in olive oil. I puréed 1-28oz can of whole, peeled tomatoes with about 2 cups baby carrots and 1 tsp salt. To make the meatballs I combined 1lb ground turkey, 1/2c sweet potato purée, 3 cubed slices wheat bread, 2 egg whites, 1/4tsp paprika, 1/4tsp pepper, 1/4c skim milk and 1/4c Parmesan cheese. Rolled the meat and browned it on each side. Added meatballs to simmering tomato/carrot sauce. Added 3c low sodium chicken broth to pot. Cooked meatballs in soup for 20 min and added pasta. Sprinkled Parmesan on top. Brooklyn told me she would only eat the meatballs and ended up eating almost all her bowl of soup because she said it tasted yummy. I'm so excited I've been able to sneak in a few vegetables! I will not force her to try things she doesn't like so her vegetable intake has been pretty limited. She would eat fruit all day if i would let her. ;) She enjoyed the twinkle toe soup and I found out she liked the taste of carrots and sweet potato the easy way!
Day 29
I'm so glad I found this 30 day study. I know it took me way longer than that to complete (I will complete this tomorrow!!!) but it encouraged me to focus on praying for my Husband and my family. It's hard to make time for a "quiet", reflective focus on my life. It may naturally happen once or so a month just because eventually I am forced to refocus and stay positive or spiral downward into self pity, jealously and lose my sight of purpose. I am consciously making an effort to make the best of where I am now. I may not get to do everything I desire with Brooklyn, but I can do something. I pray that I find another way to guide my path of prayer and journey towards peace now that this study is coming to a close. DAY 29:Day 29
Pray that your husband will surrender his time and talents to the Lord. Pray that his spiritual gifts will be manifest in his career, at church, and in your home. (Eph. 5:15-16; 1 Cor. 12:4, 7)
I pray that Aaron's passion for Radiology and desire to be the best continues through graduation, his job search, his masters program and ultimately his career. I pray he becomes the man he wants to be: a spiritual leader, a man of integrity, a loving, loyal Husband and Father and the provider for our family. Ephesians 5:15-16 "15 So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. 16 Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days." I pray Aaron is on guard daily against satan and his deceptive, destructive plans. 1 Corinthians 12:4 There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. 5 There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord. 6 God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us. 7 A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.
I love these verses. I had never read this before. It is so true. We all serve a loving God and spread peace in different ways. Who is to say how this should be done? For example, Heather and Lily painted rocks that were bright and beautiful with words such as "hope" and "smile" on them and they are going to scatter sunshine all over the Seattle/Puyallup area by leaving them in random places such as the zoo, flower beds, hospital walkways, etc. I often feel like I have no time to volunteer with the church or participate in other helpful organizations but this example is a fun way I could spend time with Brooklyn and later make a difference in someone's day. I can only imagine the big difference those little rocks will make in several people's lives. Great job Heather! :) I pray that Aaron and I find our spiritual gift and cling to that. I pray we are always striving to set ourselves apart and love people. Help us Lord with our quick judgement of others. Help us to see them as you would. Help us to have grace and practice forgiveness but not be naive to those out to hurt us. --I'm including a picture of my beautiful Goddaughter Lilliana. Isn't she gorgeous and full of sunshine?! Xoxoxoxoxo Lily!!

Trip to Mom's
Went to my moms last weekend to see Shea, Miranda, mom and the kids. I watched Remy for a little while and enjoyed snuggle time with her! We played at the mall with Jax and had dippin dots then Miranda and I snuck away about 10pm to share appetizers and a dessert at Outback. We just had some coffee, ate and talked for a while. It was nice! I was so tired though. I'm normally in bed by 9 and we were out til almost midnight! I also included a picture of what naps are like when you become a parent...

Day 28
Day 28
Pray that your husband will be a man of prayer. Pray that he will seek and pursue God in purposeful quiet times. (1 Thess. 5:17; Luke 22:46; James 5:16)
1 Thess. 5:17 "Never stop praying." I read this and said, "That's impossible." But I remembered, in my negativity, that it isn't to be taken literal. It's easy to pray, exercise, eat healthy, stay positive for a few days but the bible encourages us to do all these things "always". Personally, I need a reminder to do these things always to make me do them sometimes. I know this is a praying for your Husband study, but I am using it as my prayer time for myself and our family as well. Luke 22:46 "Why are you sleeping?" He asked them. "Get up and pray so that you will not give into temptation. I pray that Aaron would stay on guard and use prayer as a tool for success and a tool for continued recovery. James 5:16 "Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results." Aaron's schedule is so busy. We were consistently making it to church for a few weeks, then we were all sick. We talk about celebrate recovery a couple times a month but its been so hard for us to go, especially if I'm working that night because I get off so late. I pray we make celebrate recovery and other positive events in our life a priority.

Day 27: Praying for your Husband
Day 27
Pray that your husband will understand the importance of taking care of his body—the temple of the Holy Spirit—for the glory of God. Pray that he will practice self-control by making wise food choices, and get sufficient exercise to stay healthy. (Rom. 12:1-2; 1 Cor. 6:19-20, 9:27)
A Living Sacrifice-12 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.
19 Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies.
1Corint:9 I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified. Lord, help Aaron and I both make time for ourselves. I pray we can both dedicate time to mental health, exercise, prayer , reflection and relaxation.

Sweet Potato Pancakes
Snowed in and bored so Im cleaning out the fridge and cabinet; trying to cook some stuff and use up groceries wisely. Found this recipe for pancakes and decided to make some. 1/2c sweet potato purée, 1c water, 1c pancake mix, 1/2tsp cinnamon. We added some blueberries for fun. Aaron said they were good but kinda doughy. Brooklyn liked them and doesn't know she had sweet potato. ;) She also had kale and Greek yogurt in her smoothie this morning. Shh! I didn't like them but I really don't like pancakes and I can't hardly make myself eat syrup. I'd rather have a waffle with peanut butter and strawberries on top. Anyway, it was a fun and new thing to cook. Looks like the roads aren't too bad today. Still, kinda afraid to drive around so we are cooped in for now. A nap sounds nice!

Snow Day
Aaron's busy day at school got cut short so he came home early for a snow day. Brooklyn and I had already ventured outside to try to catch snowflakes on our tongues. She was so excited when she finally caught one! We "chalked" our porch and our neighbors. Brooklyn put on her warm OKC Thunder hat and said, "Booyah! Rumble!" We played chase and pet the neighbor dog through the fence. Aaron came home and we are just lounging on the couch now while he works on school stuff from home. I made a delicious smoothie! Frozen pineapple, orange juice, skim milk, strawberry Greek yogurt and red bull. I also clipped the gliders nails today which is a rough job! Gosh, they're a lot of work. I made their "main" food which is honey, bee pollen, protein powder, and an egg. I worked out from home and just finished sewing Brooklyn's leopard "Spotter". It's moments like this that make me full of joy with being a mother and being able to experience this indescribable love. I love saving the day for Brooklyn. Nothing makes me more fulfilled. I'm glad we finally aren't sick for a few days! It's nice to be productive and feel like playing.

Day 26
Ok, so day 26 has come LONG after day 1. :) I will complete this 30 (60) days of praying for my Husband. Day 26
Pray that your husband will discover and live his God-given purpose. Pray that he will offer all his dreams to the Lord, and pursue only those goals that will bring God glory and count for eternity. (Jer. 29:11; 1 Cor. 10:31)
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
21 You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons too; you cannot have a part in both the Lord’s table and the table of demons.
Thank you, Lord, for Aaron's commitment to his schoolwork. He has done so well transitioning into this intense, busy, demanding schedule. I am so proud of his accomplishments and his recovery. I pray he continues to see a bright future and stay on this path. Thank you for my ability to provide for our family during this time. I pray that I would learn to be satisfied with this stage in our lives and have faith it won't always be this way. I pray we always make time for each other and for Brooklyn during this busy time in our lives. Thank you for her sweet heart and her happy spirit.

Valentine Fun
Dropped Aaron off at clinical and BK off at her preschool party this morning, swung by Starbucks and did my Valentine shopping finally. I've been working so much lately, I just didn't have time to go. I had a lot of fun shopping for Aaron and Brooklyn and our neighbor, Kim. All of her family is in Colorado so Brooklyn picked her out some cozy socks and a small chocolate turtle cake. Aaron treated me with some tanning sessions so I went today which was really nice. Tanning is very relaxing for me and something I can do all by myself-just lay and relax for 20 min. After tanning, I got ready to go back to "Bobs class". It used to be called "navy seals" but he changed the name to "push and pull" since we didn't ever incorporate swimming. Either way, it is ridiculous and I haven't worked out much the past 3 weeks since I've been sick so, needless to say, I was in the bathroom 20 min into the class with a fan on my face and a cold, wet towel around my neck about to vomit. Thankfully, class was cut short to take bk to her dr appt and then have a "Night in Paris" dinner at Chick Fil A-all 3 of us. Brooklyn enjoyed the date and was ready to head home. After her bath, story, ironing our uniforms, packing 3 lunches and picking up, we are finally ready for bed. We had a fun, family Valentines Day!
My little Valentine
Brooklyn had fun sneaking some chocolate strawberries and preparing her skittle valentines for her class. She loves chocolate just like her mommy!

Day 25: Praying for your Husband
Day 25
Pray that your husband will be courageous in his stand against evil and injustice, and that he will stand for the truth. Pray that he will protect you and your family from Satan’s attacks. (Ps. 31:24; Eph. 6:13; Ps. 27:14)
24 Be strong and take heart,
all you who hope in the Lord.
13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
14 Wait for the Lord;
be strong and take heart
and wait for the Lord.

While we are waiting...
Waiting for Spring! It's so easy to get cooped up and want to do nothing all day. It is cloudy but fairly warm today so we are chalking and BK is riding her tricycle. The sunshine peeks through every once in a while. Living here makes me miss being at my Grandmas and exploring through the pasture, ponds and country. I hope as Brooklyn gets bigger, she can explore and be outside more. We found lots of creepy bugs and slugs on our mini outside adventure today!
Meet our Gliders
Our neighbor Kim got to meet our gliders and had a ball. Well, after Belle kinda bit her and shredded an almond all over her shoulder she had a good time. :) The gliders are still unsure of people who aren't their "family" but do pretty well with meeting strangers. Thunder is still sweet and likes to adventure. Belle doesn't mind getting out and running around but doesn't really care for snuggle time. She is also obsessed with the wheel in the cage. She's just like a girl and usually eats a little then runs it off, then takes more breaks from running to eat. ;) If we had to do it over, we probably wouldn't get the gliders because they are so high maintenance but we love them enough to not get rid of them too. They are a unique part of our family. Brooklyn is very interested in unique animals and loves learning about them from the show "Wild Kratts" so it's fun for her to have some unique animals. We hope through the next few years we trust them more and they trust us so we don't have to worry about them running away or getting lost. Thunder jumped to the floor last week and ran under the stove. After he ate a few random leftovers, he just came back to us though! They are crazy, but fun...sometimes.
