Zumba and Missing Daddy

Channel 5 news came to film Brooklyn's Zumba class for the Wednesday "fit" segment. Heather also talked me into talking...sheesh.
Brooklyn tried to pose and ended up with an awkward wall hug. haha!

I just knew she would take a good nap after Zumba...nope~she ran around all hyper and crazy and tired. I think it was hard for her to wind down without Daddys bedtime routine with her. She finally fell asleep at the table after informing me she was a "starvin' marvin".
The first thing she said when she woke up this morning was "Is Daddy back yet?" then she said the stickers on her chest meant "I love Daddy" Think she misses him a little????

Brave Daddy!

Oh, Aaron let Brooklyn buzz his head before the Honduras trip...a brave, brave soul.
This is a creepy picture of Belle because of her eyes. She really did look so cute perched on the branch eating her green bean. Its hard to get good pictures of them because they are so fast and their eyes are designed for night so they almost always look this way in pictures. The gliders are almost one year old out of pouch! They are sweet (except Belle when I clip her nails...) and they brighten up our busy morning as they are getting their final exercise in on the wheel before they head to bed for the day. I have been alone a lot this week since Aaron is in Honduras. Mom has been helping me with Brooklyn thankfully! Its a lot less lonely when I wake up and the gliders greet me with their little "hello" hissing noises. I love our little pooperson's even if they are a lot of work.

Fun day with Daddy

Our neighbor Kim gave Brooklyn her first puzzle! Daddy helped her put it together and she was so proud!
We have lots of creatures stop by our house...this guy was an angry snapping turtle!

Aaron is finished with finals and starts his Senior year as a Radiography student in August! We are so proud of your accomplishments babe! The Juniors helped serve at the Senior's pinning this past week. He looked so handsome and brought me and Brooklyn some beautiful flowers and delicious cupcakes afterwards. We went to Cherry Berry afterwards to spend time with him since he would soon be leaving for Honduras. He will be there one week and will be serving at a maximum security prison and mostly working with troubled teens that are headed to prison if they don't turn their lives around. I am excited for him to be back in Honduras. It is life changing. Please pray for his safety and for children's lives to be touched by the whole team from Community Bible Church.

Jax and BK

Miranda invited us to see the gender of her baby via 4D ultrasound!! We were so excited and had fun just spending the afternoon with them. We were shocked to see she is having a baby girl! Jax was a little shy around Brooklyn but he sure wasn't shy about holding her hand. Silly boy! Congratulations Charlie and Miranda!!!

KD and "Hammy's" House

Brooklyn was so excited to meet KD and Tammy's new toy poodle "Jake"

Sporting her ear plugs and ear wrap to protect those new ear tubes!
Having lots of fun is exhausting...She is so beautiful when she sleeps. :)

Rocky Branch

Lake adventure!

Brooklyn loved her first time on the lake. We spent 4th of July weekend at Rocky Branch. I think she enjoyed playing in the tent the most. Aaron and I loved paddle boarding. Wish we could do it all the time!!!

Hiking at White Rock-don't go.

I liked this little pool. We stayed for maybe 10 minutes. I mostly just wanted to keep walking to end the torture.

A lot of why I was so angry is because our "leader" left is several times and smoked cigarettes to destroy the fresh air.
This was about as clear as it got. Couldn't take pics of the real bad spots because I would've fell off a cliff. I wish I was joking. God blessed me with no poison ivy. I just got several massive bug bites which I happily endure compared to my thoughts of being hospitalized with poison ivy. We practically crawled through it.

Not my thing.

A friend from work invited me hiking. I was excited to go for the exercise and to just get away with some friends. The only details we received, however, was "bring swimsuits since there are water holes and we will meet there at noon". So, I thought, surely this isn't that intense of a hike or the person leading it would've said, "Be sure you bring snacks and water, wear HIKING BOOTS, wear pants, bring a snake kit...etc...." Let's just say it will take a lot for me to hike again-OR I will go with people that know what they are doing. This ended up being a six mile hike. It took about 4 hours. The trails were almost completely over-grown (with poison oak mostly). I enjoyed my shredded calves that were sore for 3 days but I was so angry we weren't prepared and very thankful we didn't fall off one of the many bluff edges we walked around and give credit to God for no one getting bit by a snake considering we were by creek beds and couldn't even see our feet most of the time since the brush was so thick....oh and 2 of us were bleeding within the first 3 minutes. Found out the trail is called "The walk of death." Wonderful.

Took a lot of effort to pretend smile here.
