Chalk-ing

Mom came over to help and we got Brooklyn outside to do some chalking. Cindy, Jaxson and Miranda were headed over in a couple days so we drew Jax a ninja turtle. :)

Temporary Ear Plugs

Waiting on our ProPlugs so for now it is "rabbit tails" in her ears for baths!

Week 1 after Surgery

BK finally started sleeping and napping well. She ate several Popsicles and bowls of ice cream. We even went to Cherry Berry towards the end of the week and took Candy Land just so she could get out a little and play. We got lots of new iPad games and painted nails. It was a long week! We are just so glad we haven't seen any bleeding. 

Extra Medicine

Brooklyn had so much pain in the evenings and especially ear pain so we went to her primary doctor and got actual pain medicine for her. It was the first night we all slept in 5 days! 

Tonsils, Adenoids, Tubes

Brooklyn had surgery on Thursday 6/6. Today is day 5 and she is doing well. We had one rough day with a lot of pain. The worst day was yesterday when I had to spend 13 hours at work instead of with her. Mostly, we've had to just try to keep her from jumping, playing, flipping, etc. No bleeding yet and she's still taking medicine without too much of a fight. Right after she received her versed, she became really loopy with slurred speech. Se kept telling us we had 2 eyes (as opposed to...?) and when the anesthesiologist walked up she informed him that his head was bald. She also asked if he cut all his hair off about halfway into his speech about her anesthesia. I'm so so thankful she is doing so well. 

Craving sweets?

Choc graham crackers, smashed raspberries, 1tbsp brown sugar, 3/4c ricotta cheese and dark chocolate chips. They are so good! After freezing, the graham crackers are soft and the inside tastes like ice cream! A healthy, sweet snack! :) just if you wanna try it. Recommended by Jillian Michaels.
