Happy Birthday Momma!

I took mom to The Melting Pot for her birthday and surprised her with a new watch. We had fun and it was nice to have a break from the craziness of moving, starting a new job, back to school, etc. I have to explain the old man cake topper I gave her first...my moms very kind and hilarious uncle passed away last year. It was so sad to see him go but I will always have the memories of his pranks, jokes and sweet hugs. It was especially sad to see his wife, Maxine, mindlessly giving away everything in her home stating, "I just don't need all these things..." She gave away some beautiful dishes, fun toys, and randomly tried to hand off this cake topper from Glen's 80th birthday. We all kindly said, "no, thank you..." and encouraged each other to go ahead and take it. To make light of the situation we all laughed, made it a joke and began to secretly sneak the cake topper into each others cars, purses, etc throughout the day. I ended up with the darn thing but conveniently left it in my moms car when we dropped me off...only to find it in my mailbox later that day. ;) So, we definitely had to explain this to our waiter when mom opened the much loved little old man cake topper!
